Waterford Institute of Technology (WIT), opened in 1970, is situated on the western outskirts of Waterford City, Ireland. The institution was originally called Regional Technical College, Waterford.

Originally set up as one of a network of Regional Technical Colleges to provide higher technical education; it was the first such college to be upgraded to Institute of Technology status. The institution provides programmes at sub degree level at National Certificate and National Diploma level, and academic degrees at bachelor, master and doctorate level.
