War Cover

War is a 1983 (see 1983 in music) album from U2. It is their third album released February 28, 1983, preceded by October in 1981 and followed by the live album Under a Blood Red Sky later in 1983. It was recorded at Windmill Lane Studios in Dublin, Ireland produced by Steve Lillywhite, except "The Refugee" (track 6) was produced by Bill Whelan a Dublin based producer.

Kenny Fradley played the trumpet, Steve Wickham the electric violin on "Sunday Bloody Sunday" and "Drowning Man." Well-known songs from this album are "Sunday Bloody Sunday," "New Year's Day," and "40." "New Year's Day" had been released as a single in January 1983
