The Ulster-Scots are an Ulster ethnic group. They are the descendants of people who migrated to Ulster from Scotland (mainly Lowland Scotland) during a period spanning the twelfth and seventeenth centuries. Other plantationers who arrived at this time, e.g. English, French Huguenot, Dutch, are now subsumed into the Ulster-Scots ethnic group.

Many of these people emigrated to the United States, where their descendants usually describe themselves as Scots-Irish or Scotch-Irish.
