Tomás MacGiolla (born 1924), former Irish politician.

Tomás MacGiolla was born on 25 January, 1924 in County Tipperary. In his early life MacGiolla was an active republican. He was interned in the 1950's and was one of the people who tried to push Sinn Féin to the left wing following the failure of the IRA border campaign from 1956 to 1962. In 1969 Sinn Féin split and MacGiolla became leader of Official Sinn Féin. However this part of the party was soon taken over by the 'Provisionals.' MacGiolla's section then became the Sinn Féin The Workers' Party and then simply The Workers Party. In 1982 MacGiolla was elected to Dáil Éireann under the banner of the new Party. In 1988 he retired as leader of the Party, succeeded by Prionsias de Rossa. In 1992 MacGiolla became the sole member of The Workers Party when the Democratic Left was founded. He subsequently lost his Dáil seat. MacGiolla served as Lord Mayor of Dublin from 1993 to 1994 and remained a Member of Dublin Corporation until 1999.
