Thurles is a town in County Tipperary, in Ireland, with a population of around 8,000. It is twinned with Bollington in England, and Salt Lake City, Utah. It's also known as the birthplace of the GAA, which was founded at Hayes's Hotel in Liberty Square in 1884.
