TV5 is a global television network, broadcasting several channels of French-language programming, primarily for non-native French speakers. It has been started in January 1984. It is currently under the management of Serge Adda. TV5 is the third global television network, after MTV and CNN.

Most of the content is taken from mainstream networks in the French-speaking world, notably TF1 and France 2 from France, RTBF from Belgium, TSR from Switzerland and French-Canadian networks. In addition to international news, TV5 broadcasts movies and music magazines. The number 5 in the name is the count of the founding networks.
