An Irish monk who died circa 620, also known as Mirin of Benchor (now called Bangor), Merinus, Merryn and Meadhran.

The founder and abbot of Paisley Abbey in the West Coast of Scotland, the shrine of this saint there became a centre of pilgrimage. A contemporary of Saint Columba and disciple of Saint Comgall he is venerated in both Ireland and Scotland.

He is the patron saint of Paisley's football club, St Mirren F.C..
