Saint Blaise (died circa 316) was a physician and bishop of Sebaste, Armenia. He was martyred by being beaten, attacked with wool combs, and beheaded.

As a saint, Blaise is the patron of the city of Dubrovnik (where he is known as Sveti Vlaho), as well as of people with throat illnesses or those working in the wool trade.
