Gort is a rural town in the north west of county Galway in the Republic of Ireland. The main road (N18) from Galway City to Limerick is passing through Gort.
Gort is just east of The Burren area.
Kilmacduagh monastery and round tower are situated approximatly 5 kilometers west of Gort.
