QVC is a television shopping channel. The name is an acronym - it stands for "Quality. Value. Convenence." QVC is based in West Chester, Pennsylvania, United States. It was founded in 1986 by Joseph Segel, founder of the Franklin Mint.

QVC carries a large range of products, and offers a 30-day money-back guarantee on all of its items. Items are presented by hosts, who may be assisted by guests - typically, people who work for the item's manufacturer or an expert on the subject. All products carry item numbers.

Some groups of goods that QVC sells:

  • Apparel and accessories
  • Beauty supplies
  • Cookware
  • Collectibles
  • Electronics
  • Food
  • Home accents
  • Jewelry
  • Sports paraphernalia
  • Womens' clothing

The Home Shopping Network is QVC's primary competitor.

QVC also operates a number of international variants of QVC based on its success in the USA. QVC has expanded to QVC UK, QVC Germany, and QVC Japan.

In March 2004, the integrity of QVC was brought into question when America's Federal Trade Commission charged QVC with making "deceptive claims" about weight loss products. Unsubstantiated claims were made about certain products, and the United States Department of Justice has filed a lawsuit against the company.
