The Party of European Socialists (PES or PSE) is a pan-European political party whose members are the Social Democratic, Socialist and Labour parties of the European Union member states as well as Norway.

It forms one of the party groups in the European Parliament.

PES was founded in 1992 to succeed the Confederation of Socialist Parties of the European Community.

Its current President is Poul Nyrup Rasmussen of the Danish Social Democratic Party.

PES members are found in most of the major EU institutions, including: the European Parliament, the European Commission, the Council of the European Union, the European Council and the Committee of the Regions.

Fifteen (15) parties from Central and Eastern Europe are associate members and 5 are observers; these are mainly from the candidate countries of the European Union.

PES is an associated organisation of the Socialist International.
