Partnership for Peace is NATO project aimed at creating trust between NATO and other states in Europe, including many ex-Soviet Union ones. Ten states have joined as members (Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Estonia, Hungary, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia) since joining NATO in 1999 and 2004.
