Paddy Clarke Ha Ha Ha, published in 1997, is perhaps the most well known novel written by Irish author Roddy Doyle. It is written from the perspective of a 10 year old boy in Ireland. The novel has similarities with novel The Catcher in the Rye by J.D. Salinger in that it concerns a young man's struggle with adolescnece and the world around him. Other similarties with the Salinger novel inlcude the device of beginning the book with its end.
