Leningrad Oblast (Ленингра́дская о́бласть) is a federal subject of Russia (an oblast) located in the Northwestern Federal District. It contains Saint Petersburg but is administratively separate from it.

The oblast has an area of 85,900 km&sup2 and population of around 1.7 million. Aside from Saint Petersburg, Kolpino is the largest city with around 160,000 inhabitants.
