Sir James Hamilton, 5th Duke of Abercorn, Bt. (born 4 July 1934) is a Northern Irish peer and politician, and currently Lord Steward of the Household.

His full title is: The Most Noble Sir James Hamilton, 5th Duke of Abercorn, 6th Marquess of Abercorn, 5th Marquess of Hamilton, 14th Earl Abercorn, 9th Viscount Strabane, 7th Viscount Hamilton, 14th Lord Paisley, 14th Lord Abercorn, 14th Lord Hamilton, Mountcastle, and Kilpatrick, 9th Baron Mountcastle, Knight of the Most Noble Order of the Garter, also Duc de Châtellerault.

Hamilton was educated at Eton College and the Royal Agricultural College. In 1952, he was commissioned into the Grenadier Guards. From 1964 to 1970, he was MP for Fermanagh and South Tyrone. In 1999, he was appointed a Knight of the Order of the Garter, and he is colonel of the Irish Guards; additionally, he was appointed Lord Steward in 2001.
