The Minister for Justice, Equality & Law Reform is the chief minister responsible for law and order in the Republic of Ireland. His or her remit includes policing (An Garda Síochána), the criminal justice system, the prison service, the implementation of the Good Friday Agreement, internal security, and matters of citizenship and immigration.
