A few Ireland Information Guide users have gotten together to make some suggestions about how we might organize data in articles about entertainment. These are only suggestions, things to give you focus and to get you going, and you shouldn't feel obligated in the least to follow them. But if you don't know what to write or where to begin, following the below guidelines may be helpful. Mainly, we just want you to write articles!

There are tons of entertainment articles of various plays and shows on Ireland Information Guide, including those in the movies, television, animation, and other forms of entertainment. Proposal to be defined by its members, if any.

This WikiProject aims primarily to normalize the standards for all the media articles in Ireland Information Guide.

Participants

Structure

To start of, for movies and tv articles, I like to have a list of characters on hand for that particular movie or tv show. A short premise/plot and list of characters would be a part of a tv/movie article, and would probably be something similar to IMDb.

If I were to modify the movie article Star Trek: First Contact, it might look like this:

Star Trek: First Contact is the eighth Star Trek movie.

Plot

In it, the crew of the brand-new USS Enterprise E travel back in time to prevent the evil, cybernetic Borg drones from assimilating Earth. When they arrive in the mid-twenty first century, however, they find that they need to make sure Earth makes its first contact with aliens, in order to preserve their future.

Hierarchy Definition

Entertainment can be classified into movies, tv programs, animations, and etc. For Movies and TV, they can be subclassified into their particular genre. List of movies and list of tv programs are some examples.

I personally like the way how articles like Babylon 5 and Lord of the Rings, as opposed to articles like Austin Powers and Charlie's Angels, are currently structured. Poor Yorick

I'd like to suggest a pattern to movie entries, with some particular elements.

• When there are several movies that are remade or share the same title, they should be mentioned in the opening paragraph.
• Discussion and/or a movie template use should be repeated for each edition or version that has enough information in the article to require repetition. Movies shold be presented in INVERSE order, that is newest first.
• I plan to add some notes to The Patriot and I'll follow this general pattern when I do.

While this isn't my area, I'd like to see the movie sub project revived or expanded and wish partiipants well. Thanks for your consideration, Lou I 20:48, 15 Jan 2004 (UTC)
