A few Ireland Information Guide users have gotten together to make some suggestions about how we might organize data in articles about Biographies. These are only suggestions, things to give you focus and to get you going, and you shouldn't feel obligated in the least to follow them. But if you don't know what to write or where to begin, following the below guidelines may be helpful. Mainly, we just want you to write articles!

Each article should have these main sections and paragraphs.

  • Front matter (above the table of contents)
    1. Infobox template {{Infobox Biography}} (plus parameters) - see mock-up at right and Template_talk:Infobox Biography for full usage information
    2. One or two paragraphs giving a brief record of the person's life. Remember, on a print-out, this is the information on page #1.
      • Name in bold print followed by the birth and death dates in parenthesis. See Ireland Information Guide:Manual of Style (biographies) for more information.
      • One sentence describing the occupation(s) and most notable accomplishment.
      • Information on parentage, spouse(s), descendants, as well as residency. Include dates.
  • Early Years - major experiences (especially those contributing to later achievments, education.
  • Major Achievements (in timeline order)
  • References (with cited sources)
  • See also
  • External links

Special Request - each subject needs to have a JPG (.jpg) picture uploaded using the same name as the article (eg. William Shakespeare needs to have Image:William Shakespeare.jpg). This should be a "classic pose" and sized above 250x250 pixels.

Hierarchy & Classification

There shall be a List of people which will act as a main source to list the various biographies.
