Using this page

For articles that need deletion, add {{delete}} to the top of the page. You should not wipe out the contents as it helps to check the contents to be deleted without having to look at the page history. This expands to:

You can also add it to the list at the bottom of this page, but you don't have to.

Note that if you just replace the content with {{delete}} the prior content will not be automatically added to the deletion log summary when the page is deleted.

Advice for administrators

• Use Category:Candidates for speedy deletion for a list of pages.
• Use What links here for Template:Delete (http://www.irelandinformationguide.com/w/wiki.phtml?title=Special:Whatlinkshere&target=Template:Delete) (this is an older method superseded by categorisation, but temporarily still in use until full switch is possible)
• Check talk pages, page history, etc -- if there is a dispute over whether the page should be deleted, consider first listing it on Ireland Information Guide:votes for deletion
• Review our admin deletion guidelines
• If you delete an article marked for deletion, please do not include {{delete}} in the summary.

Deletion of personal pages

Unless you are a sysop, it is not possible to delete your own user pages and subpages, so they must be listed here. If you are a sysop, it is recommended that you also list your pages here so they can be deleted by another sysop. For your main user or talk pages, you must list them here, not delete them yourself, to avoid the appearance that sysops can delete to hide negative comments, while others can't.

Only post pages from your own personal page, and only if you have a genuine reason for requesting a personal page of yours be deleted, please list it here.

• Ajit Agarkar - Very short article with little or no definition or context.
  • Not a candidate for speedy deletion -should go through VFD, and if it did I personally would vote to keep as long as the info in the article is accurate. Theresa Knott (stroke the ant) 10:01, 1 Sep 2004 (UTC)
• Hazel O'Connor - Sister (or so the article says) of a current Australian Idol contestant, Dan O'Connor. The Dan article was full of the same rubbish - I've sinced cleaned it up, but this one should go.
  • I agree to its speedy deletion but feel it's borderline so wont actually delete it myself (to give people the chance to protest) Theresa Knott (stroke the ant) 10:01, 1 Sep 2004 (UTC)
• DanO'Connor - could feasibly be a redirect to Dan O'Connor, but can safely be speedy deleted.
  • In general, if a page can be made into a redirect, that's the best thing to do. This looks to me to be a reasonable spelling mistake i.e. something thayt someone might feasably type into google. I'll do the honours. Theresa Knott (stroke the ant) 10:01, 1 Sep 2004 (UTC)
