See also: Ireland Information Guide:Translation into English, Category:Pages needing translation
This page is a place to list foreign language articles on the English Ireland Information Guide, to see if they can be translated before they are listed on Ireland Information Guide:Votes for deletion. If someone speaks the language the article is written in and can state that it is not worth translating, the item should be moved to VfD.
If the article is a mere copy of (all or part of) an article in a foreign-language Ireland Information Guide, it can just get added to Ireland Information Guide:Candidates for speedy deletion: we want to discourage people who cut articles from one Ireland Information Guide and paste to another without translating. If the intent is to ask for a translation, the correct place to do that is Ireland Information Guide:Translation into English.
If an article has been listed here for two weeks and is still untranslated, it should be moved to VfD. When moving items to VfD, the boilerplate text on the article should be changed from {{notenglish}} to {{subst:vfd}}.
When listing a page here, you might want to find the Ireland Information Guide:Embassy or Ambassador member of the Ireland Information Guide that relates to the language the article is in and invite them to move the page to their own Ireland Information Guide. If you don't even know what language the article is in you could use Language recognition chart and if that fails some language recognition web site, such as xrce (http://www.xrce.xerox.com/competencies/content-analysis/tools/guesser-ISO-8859-1.en.html), to find out. Please leave a note on this page if you do this to prevent duplication of messages. If you have come here from another Ireland Information Guide, please note on this page what you think should be done with the article.
If you can tell what language an article is written in, that might help.
Boilerplate text
Use this message for the notice {{notenglish}} which will show up as

- This article needs translation. If the article is not rewritten in English (http://www.irelandinformationguide.com/Ireland_Information_Guide:Pages_needing_translation_into_English?action=edit) within the next two weeks, it will be listed for deletion.

Yes. Beşiktaş is a well-known sports club in Istanbul, best known for its football (soccer) section. I just listed Bülent Korkmaz and Hakan Sükür (Şükür), two famous Turkish footballers, as well. Dale Arnett 16:34, 20 Aug 2004 (UTC)

- This appears to be entirely taken from [1] (http://www.edsh.org/diskutime/viewthread.php?tid=2678) and [2] (http://www.vatican.va/holy_father/john_paul_ii/speeches/2002/may/documents/hf_jp-ii_spe_20020510_albania-ambassador_it.html). The latter is not copyrighted. The former might be. Any suggestions on how to proceed? -- Jmabel 15:21, Aug 21, 2004 (UTC)

Cơ điện Việt-Hung

Ilona Elek
- Ilona Elek, in Hungarian, was tagged August 4, but not listed here (so the clock starts now). Offhand, it looks like a legitimate biostub.
Vegas flipper
- Vegas flipper, in French, is about a particular model of Goetlieb pinball machine. It was mis-tagged for speedy deletion Aug 27; someone correctly changed that to a {{notenglish}} tag, but neglected to list it here, so the clock starts now. -- Jmabel 22:28, Aug 30, 2004 (UTC)

Henri Fayol
French. Wile E. Heresiarch 14:39, 1 Sep 2004 (UTC)
- Early 20th century neoclassical economic theoretician. Short article, probably merits translation. -- Jmabel 17:19, Sep 1, 2004 (UTC)
Translated pages that could still use some cleanup
Pages listed here are "mostly done" but could still use some attention from someone who approaches dual-native.
- Futami Jouwa - Ryukyuan folk song, originally noted 22 Apr 2004, could really use a running translation of the lyrics. -- Jmabel 05:19, 11 May 2004 (UTC)
- Subete no Hito no Kokoro ni Hana wo is much the same, but given that the writer seems to be still alive, I wonder whether there is a copyright issue? Tinsagu nu Hana does have a translation, but looks more suitable for Wikisource. --Henrygb 00:35, 3 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- The Jäger March - Finnish patriotic song, music by Sibelius. The lyrics still need translation. -- Jmabel 00:52, Jul 28, 2004 (UTC)
- Plant improvement claims to be maschine translatet from italian and only partly checked. -guety is talking english bad 16:52, 3 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Much of it has had a going over. It's well beyond the usual machine-translated junk, but it still needs some major editing (especially the latter part), and some words are still in untranslated Italian. -- Jmabel 22:33, Aug 3, 2004 (UTC)
- I have tried to improve it a little, but this is really beyond me. I think that rather than a translator, someone with knowledge of molecular biology or organic chemistry should have a look at it. There are many technical terms of which I cannot decide whether they are correct or not. Cat 10:15, 4 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Surudi milli, the national anthem of Tajikistan, needs translation (which should be either following or side-by-side with the Tajik lyrics).
