A street in Baton Rouge was named after Fulwar Skipwith. He was involved in the West Florida Rebellion.
Robert Percy (of Kilkenny, Ireland), performed what has been termed a brilliant service in the "West Florida Rebellion." Fulwer Skipwith, Shepherd Brown, and Robert Percy were members of the First West Florida high judiciary.
abt 1814, December - Magloire Guichard and Fulwar Skipwith, who was the president of the Senate, sponsored a legislative resolution to grant amensty to "the privateeres lately resorting to Barataria who might be deterred from offering their services for fear of persecution". The motion passed almost unanimously.
1827 - Armand Duplantier, Antoine Blanc, Thomas B. Robertson, Sebastien Hiriart and Fulwar Skipwith received permission from the state legislature to organize a corporation entitled the "Agricultural Society of Baton Rouge."
