The Barony of Newborough has been created twice in the Peerage of Ireland. The first creation was in 1716 for George Cholmondeley, 2nd Earl of Cholmondeley. The Earls and later Marquesses of Cholmondeley continue to hold that barony (see Marquess of Cholmondeley). The other barony was created in 1776, and is also extant.
