The Barony of Dynevor was created in 1780 in the Peerage of Great Britain. The recipient, William Talbot, had previously been created Earl Talbot; that title became extinct at his death because he left no sons to succeed to it. The Barony of Dynevor, however, passed to his daughter due to a special remainder in the letters patent creating the title.
