Ballsbridge, Dublin 4, Dublin Ireland, is named for the bridge spanning the river Dodder on the south side of the city. From the bridge, Ballsbridge extends southwards along the Merrion Road towards Merrion and Booterstown. The RDS has its grounds here, as does the IRFU. Herbert Park is here too, forming part of Ballsbridge's nebulous border with Donnybrook.

The bulk of Dublin's embassies and many diplomatic residences are located in the southern part of Ballsbridge on and around Ailesbury Road

Ailesbury Road, along with adjacent Shrewsbury Road comprise the purple (most expensive) properties in the Dublin edition of the board-game Monopoly.
